I have found a couple of nice pages on Bob Marley that includes a discography, but I had trouble to find informations on the singles released lately, lacking of time to do a complete discography, I have decided to make this partial discography. If you own a single not featured on this website, click on CONTACT ME and send me all the information (Title, Code, Country, Tracks, Duration, Release Year (or even better: released month when you know it). Why the duration of the tracks? Simply because It helps to find out if the version of a song included on a single |

| Released date: December 1988. This is a single that was released for the eponymous Bob Marley album, released on the same label (Urban-Tek), on January 2, 1989. The album contains 8 songs that were remixed in 1988 and was produced by Danny Simms. I assumed that this song is the same remix that the one featured on the album. Usually, when the same song appears on both the A-Side and the B-Side, it probably means that this is a promotional single, except that no where on the label it is written 'promotional'. I saw this very rare single on eBay. Format: 7-inch vinyl single. |

| A1. Java Java (by Gustus Pablo) (0m00) •••SUGAR SUGAR ••• B1. Version (by Impact All Stars) (0m00) ••• GREEN DUCK ••• |
||
| Released date: 1995. This is has the wrong label. The A-SIDE has a felt marker that covers the name for JAVA JAVA and GUSTUS PABLO. The single is in fact, a re-issue of 1970's blank single with SUGAR SUGAR (by Bob Marley & The Wailers) and GREEN DUCK (by Peter Tosh). Both songs were recorded in 1969. Green Duck is a rare solo song recorded by Peter Tosh. I doubt that there ever was a single released with that song in the past, only a blank single was issued at the time. A Bob Marley fan noticed me that the IMPACT! label is aChin/Randy's label. He said: "I seem to recall some dispute over tracks used on Complete Wailers that prompted the Chins to press these tunes on vinyl". This record company has re-issued 3 singles (sold separately) from the late 60's (POUND GET A BLOW, SUGAR SUGAR, BUS DEM SHUT). Note that since 1998, a few more singles were released on IMPACT! (YOU CAN'T FOOL ME AGAIN (1998), GREEN DUCK (2003), A LITTLE MELODICA (2003), SATISFY MY SOUL JAH JAH (2004)). Format: 7-inch single. Matrix (A-side): DYNA RANDY 1056-1 Matrix (B-side): DYNA - RANDY 415-1 THIS SINGLE WAS VERIFIED BY SOMEONE WHO OWNS IT. (D) NOTE: this single was issued approximately in 1995, but was mislabeled. NOTE: unlike the other IMPACT! singles, there seems to be only that 2003 repress and no other repress since. |

Released date: 1996. White lable with a stamper that have only the Trojan logo. There no name of artists, no code, no year, no country where it was manufactured... As it's Trojan, it's mostlikely from UK. I first found the existance of that single in Distant Drums issue 12 (published in 2003). I have no clue in which year it was released. I assumed in was 1996, simply because it has SUN IS SHINING (WEED SELECTORS MIX) on the single and SUN IS SHINING (LEAF MIX) which is exactly the same remix than SUN IS SHINING [C.K.B. REMIX EXTENDED MIX). The song SUN IS SHINING (BURNT MIX) seems to be exclusive to that promotional single. Format: 12-inch single.

NOTE: this single seems constantly repressed since 1998, but with different colour labels. RELEASE No.1: red stripes label (regular vinyl) (November 1998) RELEASE No.2: red stripes label (YELLOW VINYL EDITION) (November 1998) RELEASE No.3: yellow stripes label (regular vinyl) (2000 edition ?) RELEASE No.4: yellow stripes label (RED VINYL EDITION) (2000 edition ?) RELEASE No.5: blue stripes label (regular vinyl) (2002 edition ?) Ernie B might not have updated the picture of this single in April 2009 and might be showing the previous one. |

| Released date: October 12 (?) 1999. The CD and the back of the sleeve were manufactured in USA, but the front sleeve seemed to be manufactured in Germany, as the inner notes are written in German. If I'm not wrong, that promotional single was released in January 2000 in Germany, as there is a little code that says 01/00 inside the sleeve. Another indication that would confirm it is that the inner side of the sleeve state the title of the album as CHANT DOWN BABYLON, but the back of the sleeve (printed in USA in September or early October 1999) states: from the upcoming album BOB MARLEY: A REBEL'S DREAM. This is in fact the tentative title (that was probably change at the last minute) for the album CHANT DOWN BABYLON. Format: promotional CD5 single. THIS SINGLE WAS VERIFIED BY SOMEONE WHO OWNS IT. ||
| Released date: 2000 (?). Even if the label says BLACK ART, the single was released in the UK by Ascension label. Ron (Smokeyroom's Rhythm Shower website): this series of singles (ART 01-30) was released only a few years ago, probably 2000. Most of these singles were released on CD by Ascension on Black Art Singles Selector. MOVING VERSION and MOVING ON are two different tracks from Big Youth. The second one is a track he made in 1975, a recut of Ken Boothes Moving Away, originally recorded for Studio One. Information send by somone who owns the single: I can confirm that there are two separate tracks on Side A, the vocal by U Roy followed by the backing track, but only U Roy's version is printed on the label. Both versions have an electronic organ as the lead instrument; neither of them feature Bob's voice or any other Wailers vocals. The B-side by Big Youth DEFINITELY IS a version of 'Keep On Moving', but again without any original vocals from Bob remaining. If my notes are good: RHYTHM LAND is from 1970 and MOVING VERSION is from 1972. To my knowledge, RHYTHM LAND VERSION was never released on CD. Format: 7-inch single. THIS SINGLE WAS VERIFIED BY SOMEONE WHO OWNS IT. (G) NOTE: Could there be a re-issue of that single? As Juno Records states that they received it on July 30, 2007 |

||
| Released date: 2000. Blank white label. White background with black writing on label. House remix of the song COULD YOU BE LOVED. Format: one-sided promotional 12-inch vinyl single. THIS SINGLE WAS VERIFIED BY SOMEONE WHO OWNS IT. (D) NOTE: I need to confirm if this was released in 2000. When the single JAMMIN' (REMIX) was issiued in May 2000, someone that knows Olav Basoski work, wrote that JAMMIN' was Mr. Basoski's second experience remixing Bob Marley. Originally, he had worked on a standard House version of "Could You Be Love", unfortunately unreleased to this day for the general public'. Does he consider this promotional 12-inch single when he says 'unreleased to this day to general public?' While searching Internet, the older existance that I found was on a forum: July 1, 2006 (www.musik4fun.com). Then there was a review of the vinyl on Discogs.com dated February 8, 2007. I also found another comment on a forum dated May 30, 2007. A music store write that this is from 2000, but were they refering to the comment above? So there is a posibility that this song might have been recorded in 2000 and might have only been released on vinyl six years later. |
